چکیده

The vibro-acoustic performance of a fluid-loaded periodic locally resonant (LR) plate was examined in this research, with specific focus on the effect water fluid vibration and sound radiation LR structure. analytical models plate’s band gap, vibration, acoustic were theoretically derived closed-form solutions, which can be used to predict general rules underwater results show that band-gap width Bragg frequency are significantly reduced when is considered. Besides, range tuned control for much narrower than without fluid. reason inducing above effects also given physically explained by attached mass caused In addition, enhanced efficiency close gap discussed, change mode from corner or edge monopole radiation. Furthermore, adding small damping into resonator could reduce below attenuation zone broadened. Thus, designing resonators proper an efficient method make more beneficial noise reduction water-surrounding applications.

Vibro-acoustic Wave Filtering Properties of a Fluid-loaded Plate Reinforced by Periodic Ribs of Finite Width

An analytical model is developed for examining the vibro-acoustic properties of a fluid-loaded plate reinforced by periodic ribs of finite width. This model is used to understand the frequency filtering properties of the flexural wave and the structural-borne sound wave of the ribbed plate under different fluid loading conditions. The relationships between the flexural waves and the related sou...

Compact and Efficient Active Vibro-acoustic Control of a Smart Plate Structure

An effective wide band active control law through one kind of the Dynamic Vibration Absorber (DVA) is proposed and studied in this paper. With the help of mechanical impedance method, active DVA control law is formulated based on the passive mechanical model. The electrical DVA can generate multi-mode active damping to the structure. The host structure is an aluminum plate and acceleration sign...

Homogenization of periodic elastic composites and locally resonant sonic materials

A method for homogenization of an elastic composite with periodic microstructure is presented, focusing on the Floquet-type elastic waves. The resulting homogenized frequency-dependent elasticity and mass density then automatically satisfy the overall conservation laws and by necessity produce the exact dispersion relations. It is also shown that the dispersion relations and the associated fiel...

Method for retrieving effective properties of locally resonant acoustic metamaterials

Acoustic metamaterials can be described by effective material properties such as mass density and modulus. We have developed a method to extract these effective properties from reflection and transmission coefficients, which can be measured experimentally. The dependency of effective properties on the positions of the boundaries of the acoustic metamaterial is discussed, and a proper procedure ...

Scaling of membrane-type locally resonant acoustic metamaterial arrays.

Metamaterials have emerged as promising solutions for manipulation of sound waves in a variety of applications. Locally resonant acoustic materials (LRAM) decrease sound transmission by 500% over acoustic mass law predictions at peak transmission loss (TL) frequencies with minimal added mass, making them appealing for weight-critical applications such as aerospace structures. In this study, pot...
